Challenge
Microsoft's research unit needed a unified digital content management system (CMS) that could bring together work from multiple teams whilst testing to create more value for the teams with emerging AI capabilities.
Solution
As design lead, I guided the platform's evolution from initial concept to an AI-enhanced ecosystem—establishing parallel workflows where visionary innovation ran alongside agile delivery. This approach, grounded in close collaboration with leadership and data scientists, transformed how teams showcased and researched their work.
The result was a new site with GPT integration, custom page creation, and seamless Fluent design system implementation. Leadership cited it as "a new virtual home", whilst users reported time savings and improved satisfaction.
Impact
The site served as a model for future AI-powered workplace solutions, demonstrating Microsoft's capability to innovate from within.
Also, it transformed fragmented team work into a collaborative shared document and insights space.
